Day 1: Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

Activities:

When you arrive at the Tan Son Nhat International airport you’ll be met at the baggage claim by our friendly guide. Just look for the sign with our Viet Heritage Travel logo and your name. We’ll get you to your hotel and see that you’re comfortable, plus we’ll give you an introduction to the city at the same time. Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area.
Saigon is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar at the Rex Hotel, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels

Activities:

We’ll pick you up in the morning and take you to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a major part of the Vietnam-American War and a fascinating day trip– explore the mysterious tunnels, find hidden doors and once-deadly traps. After lunch we’ll go back to HCMC and spend the afternoon either visiting the War Remnants Museum or the Presidential Palace, whichever you prefer. Then stroll around the city’s colonial streets in the evening to the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall.
Then hitting the buzzing streets of Ho Chi Minh City. Tonight offers a chance to experience the nightlife of local Saigonese from the back of a vintage Motorbike . The city comes alive come sundown and people congregate on sidewalks, parks and all over the city at the end of each day. The first stop on your culinary exploration will be to sample some light evening snacks. Continue to a traditional quan (bia hoi) for dinner and drinks, here a sampling of Saigon’s best authentic street food will be eaten. An evening out in Ho Chi Minh City is not complete without a visit to a Vietnamese-style coffee shop.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Sa Dec – Chau Doc

Activities:

This morning, leave the hustle and bustle of the big city behind as the scenery is gradually replaced with rice paddies and rural villages on your drive to Chau Doc. Stop en route in the town of Sa Dec where you will visit the lush gardens and fruit orchards of a local family and Kien An Cung Pagoda before having lunch in the former house of Huynh Thuy Le who is the main character in Marguerite Dura’s novel. After reaching Chau Doc, transfer to the top of Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site, where you will enjoy sweeping views of the countryside as the sun sets.

Day 4: Chau Doc – Tra Su – Can Tho

Activities:

After breakfast, 8.00am we depart to Tra Su – take a boat trip into the forest, you will immediately feel like you are harmonising with nature because of all of the impressive pictures of cajuputs, the fragrance of the flowers and the music-like noise of birds, insects and animals making people relaxed comfortable. From the observation post, you can overlook the forest with an area of nearly 900 ha, home of many birds and animals, including some rare ones. Have lunch in forest, relax on hammock or experience monkey bridge…Return to land for the drive to Can Tho stopping en route to visit the bamboo basket-making hamlet of Long Thanh. Arrive in Can Tho, check in hotel, free time.

Day 5: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City

Activities:

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Rang floating market which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a “Monkey bridge” which is built by only o¬ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. On the way back to HCM city by bus the last stop is to see how incense sticks are made.

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City (take a flight– Client’s own tickets)

You have free time in the morning until your private car arrives to take you to the airport for your next destination.
