flexible Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive – Pick up & transfer to hotel. Free time

Activities:

Upon arrival, you will be met outside the baggage claim area by your guide who will escort you to a waiting vehicle for your transfer to downtown with a brief introduction en route.

Your guide will be holding a welcome signboard with the VIET HERITAGE TRAVEL LOGO & your name. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the tree-lined boulevards, French Indochinese architecture and tranquil lakes of this unique city.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour full day

Activities:

The capital of Vietnam, a city that celebrated 1.000 years in 2010 has countless fascinating cultural and historic sites and our days’ tour will visit the highlights.

See the grand and solemn mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov), the ‘icon of Hanoi’ – The One Pillar Pagoda, the beautiful Temple of Literature, West Lake’s Tran Quoc temple and Quan Thanh pagoda as well as the fascinating Ethnology Museum, the bustling Old Quarter and at the end of the day – a water puppet performance.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Activities:

7.45 – 8.00:Our bus or private car will pick you up at your hotel.

12.30   Arrive at  office, Halong City. Transferred by tender to Cruise – enjoy welcome drink. Receive cruise briefing, check in cabins and begin your cruise.

13.30   Having lunch – delicious Vietnamese set menu (Massage service is available after lunch and throughout the tour).

15:00   Head to Bai Tu Long Bay, pass the towns of Hon Gai and Cam Pha, Oan Lagoon, Monster Head and Teapot Islets and Vung Vieng fishing village.

Visit the Vung Vieng floating fishing village by bamboo sampan for an hour or Kayak in to the village then return to Cruise for your leisure or join one of the following optional  activities: Sunbathing. traditional massage, swimming etc.

18:00:Drop anchor in the calm water surrounded by islets near Hang Trong. Happy Hour (sunset party).

18:30:Vietnamese cooking demonstration on boat.

19.15:Sumptuous set-dinner onboard.

21.00:Relaxing on your cabin or join the on board activities: film entertainment, light music for dancing in the dining room (please book in advance with your tour guide), board games and playing cards are available, and massage services are available.
Passengers may also try their luck at squid fishing from the boat. Happy Hour! Buy two drink – get one free (wine by the bottle excluded)

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue

Activities:

06.15:  Starting your day with Tai Chi on the Sundeck while complimentary tea & coffee are served.

 07.00  Have breakfast in dinning room.

08.00   Explore the Surprise Cave (Sung Sot).

 08:15  Transfer by tender to the Surprise Cave. Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat.

10.00   Upon return to the boat you will have 30 minutes to freshen up and finish packing. Please remove all of your belongings from your cabin, you may leave heavy luggage outside of the cabin (staff will transfer directly to the pier).

 10:30  Enjoy Set Menu for lunch in the dining room. We will settle bills after lunch.  Relaxing on the sundeck or in the dining room, enjoying the rest of Halong bay before getting back to harbor.

11.45   Arrive at Hon Gai Harbour. Transfer by tender to the pier. Get on van or car back to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi , transfer to airport for a flight o Hue. Arrive in Hue, pick you up and transfer to hotel. Free time.

Day 5: Hue Tour

Activities:

Breakfast at your hotel and then start a visit to the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945 and tomb of Tu Duc.

This afternoon, visit take a boat along Perfume River for visiting Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River End the day at Khai Dinh’s Tomb which boasts a traditional Vietnamese design with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Then free time.

Day 6: Hue – Ho Chi Minh City

Activities:

Breakfast at your hotel, free time for relaxing on beach or shopping until pick you up and transfer to airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive in Ho  Chi Minh City, pick you up and transfer you to hotel. Free time

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels

Activities:

Breakfast at your hotel, transfer for visiting Cu Chi Tunnels. After lunch in Cu Chi, driver back to Ho Chi Minh City. This afternoon, depending on your preference, visit either the War Remnants Museum or History Museum, and the former Presidential Palace.

Finish the day with a stroll around the city’s colonial architecture, including the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ben Tre – Can Tho

Activities:

Leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. On arrived at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank.

Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of the water coconut trees along natural canals. Have a short cycling tour (applied for private tour/if  time permitted) then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music“, performed by the locals.

Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through fruit plantations and villages.  Then transfer to Can Tho. Arrive in Can Tho, free time.

Day 9: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Chau Doc

Activities:

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river (Bassac River), then proceed to Cai Rang floating markets which are the liveliest in the whole religion.

Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to pass a “Monkey bridge” which is built by only one stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden.

Stop for lunch.  Proceed to Chau Doc via Long Xuyen to visit the crocodile farm. Check in on arriving in Chau Doc. Admire the landscape from the Sam Mountain summit down the Vietnamese – Cambodian border, visit the Caved pagoda. Overnight in Chau Doc.

Day 10: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh

Activities:

Breakfast at your hotel. Take a morning speed boat ~ 4.5 hours to Phnom Penh. Visa on arrival at Cambodia border (20 usd each, 1 photo 3x4cm) local Cambodian guide meet at Phnompenh boat pier and transfer to hotel.

After lunch, You will travel for visiting Killing fields and visit to Wat Phnom the historical capital of Phnom Penh. Proceed to the Independent Monument, Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda.

Day 11: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap

Activities:

Breakfast at your hotel. The peaceful stretch of green fields of Cheung Ek may not indicate what kinds of horrors have taken place there. Situated 17km from Phnom Penh town, Cheung Ek was made famous by the movie “The Killing Fields”.

Nowadays, a large memorial has been built to commemorate the 17,000 victims who died here under the reign of Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot. The remnants inside the memorial and the mass graves that dot the area remind you of the suffering of the victims.

This journey into Cambodia’s past will provide you with a background on the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge regime. It will also give you an appreciation of the struggle that Cambodian people have faced and their tremendous courage to move on and rebuild their nation. Then transfer to airport for a flight to Siem Reap. Arrive in Siem Reap, pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 12: Siem Reap – Angkor Temple Highlighted

Activities:

Beat the crowd early morning by 7am, visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever.

And continue to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat – one of the world’s most impressive ruins.  The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art. Lunch is own account.

Afternoon, explore the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom. City & Bayon Its 54-tower temple is an awesome sight. At first glance it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals a face, and then another and another until suddenly you are engulfed by the silent, heavy, enigmatic and silent gaze through half-closed eyes, staring out from a primitive and remote time. Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, Lepper King Terrace and Royal Place area.

Day 13: Siem Reap – Outlying Temples

Activities:

This morning we visit the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya which flourished in the late 9th and earlier 10th centuries. These are the earliest temples in the Angkor area and are referred to the Rolous group (Lo Lei, Preah Koh, and Bakhong Temples). Lunch with the local family and then we will continue to drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the smallest, but magnificent, Banteay Srei built in the 10th Century and dedicated to Shiva.

The temple was the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture and the bas-relief work is the best example of Khmer classical art remaining. The pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. Khmers say the temple must have been carved by women for the details are too fine for the hands of a man. On the way back to Siem Reap we will visit the Banteay Samre Temple adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishnu as well as Krishna legends

Day 14: Siem Reap departure

Activities:
