Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival
Activities:
When you arrive at the Tan Son Nhat International airport you’ll be met at the baggage claim by our friendly guide. Just look for the sign with our Viet Heritage Travel logo and your name. We’ll get you to your hotel and see that you’re comfortable, plus we’ll give you an introduction to the city at the same time. Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area.
Ho Chi Minh is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar at the Rex Hotel, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels
Activities:
We’ll pick you up in the morning and take you to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a major part of the Vietnam-American War and a fascinating day trip– explore the mysterious tunnels, find hidden doors and once-deadly traps. After lunch we’ll go back to HCMC and spend the afternoon either visiting the War Remnants Museum or the Presidential Palace, whichever you prefer. Then stroll around the city’s colonial streets in the evening to the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ben Tre
Activities:
08:30 am: The guide pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to Ben Tre. On the way stop over at Mekong Restop for relaxing around 15 minutes.
10:30 am: Arrive at Ham Luong dock, you will take a boat and then cruise along Ham Luong River, a tributary to the Mekong River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks will immediately get you excited to explore all the great things ahead.
Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, including activated charcoal, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art. Cruise around the village roads by “Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, which is a kind of motorized rickshaw. Kayak through the natural canals to get a unique experience of the peaceful beauty of the Mekong River as well as the rural life there. Having lunch at a local host house.
After lunch, you will have some time for relaxing before take a car back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City around 4:30 pm. Drop you off at your hotel.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang
Activities:
You’ll have the morning for a leisurely breakfast before we come to collect you and take you to Tan Son Nhat airport to catch a flight to Nha Trang. When you arrive in Nha Trang we’ll be there to pick you up and get you settled in your hotel. You’ll have free time in the afternoon to relax or begin to see the sites of Nha Trang.
Nha Trang is relatively small and easy to find your way around and your guide can point you in the right direction regarding restaurants, bars and beach activities. If in doubt and you’re looking for a western style experience, head down to the classy Sailing Club restaurant, bar and nightclub on the beach. Run by an Australian, it’s a favourite among visitors.

Day 5: Nha Trang Cruise Tour
Activities:
We’ll pick you up at your hotel and take you to Cua Da Port for a cruise around Nha Trang. The first stop will be to the beautiful Mieu Island where you can visit the Tri Nguyen Aquarium and see hundreds of colorul, strange, and other-worldy sea creatures that call the shores of Mieu home. The next stop will be Mun Island for snorkeling through a jungle of undersea coral with tropical fish that flash like silver. Our third stop will be either Mot, Tranh Beach, or “Mini Beach” island where you can lounge on the beach, rent a kayak, or go for a swim and we’ll have a picnic lunch. Afterwards we’ll make one last stop to a local fishing village. In the evening you can soak and relax at the Thap Ba Mud Bath and Spa.

Day 6: Nha Trang Free time
Activities:
You have the day in Nha Trang to spend as you choose-you can head to the beach for a day by the sea or to take part in water sports, go to the spa and mud baths, or explore the markets.

Day 7: Nha Trang – Hoian
Activities:
We’ll pick you up after breakast and take you to the airport for a flight to Danang. After you arrive we’ll get you to your hotel in Hoian and then you will check into your hotel then have the afternoon to soak up the sun at Cua Dai beach.
Hoi An was a prosperous port from the 16th to 19th centuries trading with merchants from China, Japan, India, Indonesia and Europe who came to buy silk, spices and porcelain. Hoi An’s UNESCO World Heritage Old Quarter is beautifully preserved with ornate pagodas, antique trading houses and old tile-roofed shops. It is a rich architectural fusion of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and European styles. Many of the historic buildings lining the canals and pedestrian streets have been converted into art galleries, boutique restaurants, bars and cafes. Hoi An is surrounded by attractive countryside with traditional farming and fishing, and by sandy beaches with modern seaside resorts.

Day 8: Hoian Tour
Activities:
Breakfast will be served at the hotel, the guide pick you up and afterwards you’ll explore the enchanting time-capsule town of Old Hoi An on a walking tour with your guide. Hoi An was a major sea port in Asia and it resulted in a fusion of style and culture that has been perfectly preserved. Wander traditional Chinese shops, luxurious French homes, and an ancient Japanese bridge. The town is home to silk markets, Vietnamese food stalls, and talented street performers– all of which are sure to charm you. Then spend the afternoon further exploring the town on your own or head down to Cua Dai Beach to relax.

Day 9: Hoian – Danang – Hue
Activities:
Breakfast at your hotel, free time for relaxing on beach or shopping. In the afternoon, the guide pick you up and transfer you to Hue. On the way to Hue, stop over for visiting Cham Museum, ascending the Pass of Ocean Clouds for panoramic views of the surroundings and visit the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co Beach. Arrive in Hue, visit Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River End the day at Khai Dinh’s Tomb which boasts a traditional Vietnamese design with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Then free time.

Day 10: Hue – Hanoi

We’ll pick you up after breakast and take you to the airport for a flight to Hanoi. After you arrive we’ll get you to your hotel and see that you’re comfortable, plus we’ll give you an introduction to the city at the same time. Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area.
Hanoi is Vietnam’s capital city and home to seven million people. Traditional and refined with French colonial architecture, tree-lined boulevards, scenic lakes and a bustling Old Quarter, Hanoi has a sophisticated charm. Observe locals practicing Tai Chi by the lake, with barbers and food vendors plying their sidewalk trade.

Day 11: Hanoi city tour full day – Sapa
Activities:
You’ll have your breakfast at the hotel and then the local tour guide will pick you up to take you into the capital city of Vietnam. Hanoi is over 1,000 years old and during your day tour you’ll get to explore many of its fascinating cultural and historical sites. You’ll visit the imposing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” has been laid to rest, the delicate One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Temple and the Quan Thanh Pagoda.
After lunch you can go to the Temple of Literature where you’ll get to see ancient Vietnamese relics, then take a cyclo tour in 1 hour through the bustling and exciting Old Quarter to explore marketplace shops and foods. You’ll end your day with a show at the water puppet theater – a beautifully unique cultural performance from northern Vietnam.
Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00pm and take you to the Hanoi Railway Station. We’ll get you situated in an air-conditioned, 4-berth cabin with soft sleepers for an over-night train to Lao Cai. You will arrive at Lao Cai at about 6:00am the next day.

Day 12: Sapa Tour
Activities:
When you arrive in Lao Cai at 6:00am we will already be there waiting to pick you up. Just look for the tour guide with a sign that has your name on it. We’ll take either a car or van up into the beautiful misty mountains of Northern Vietnam as we drive to Sapa. You’ll be taken to a restaurant and hotel where you can get cleaned up, refreshed, and get something to eat. After lunch we’ll visit Cat Cat Village, where a Black H’mong tribe lives, then go to see a beautiful, natural waterfall in the mountains. Afterwards, if you’re interested you can also visit the impressive hydroelectric power station built by the French. You’ll have dinner back in the town of Sapa and have the evening to explore the village on your own.
The former French hill station of Sapa is characterized by rocky mountain ridges, terraced rice paddies and lush green valleys. Sapa is located in the picturesque Hoang Lien Son mountain range on the border with China. Colorful hill tribe minorities inhabit the surrounding mountains, each with their own distinctive style of dress. From early childhood girls learn to grow and weave hemp, dye cloth, and decorate the family’s clothing with traditional embroidery motifs.

Day 13: Sapa Tour – Hanoi
Activities:
You’ll have your breakfast in the hotel and then a guide will be there by 9:00am to take you on your trekking day. We’ll walk about 15 kilometers and in the course of the day you’ll get to pass cascading waterfalls, terraced rice fields, a sweeping river valley, and truly spectacular mountain vistas. We’ll also visit three different villages that belong to the Black H’mong, Dzay, and Red Dzao people. You can choose to either share a meal with a local family in one of the minority villages or have a lunch brought for you from the hotel to have a picnic with a beautiful view. A van or bus will be waiting for you at the last village to take you back to Sapa to collect your luggage. From there we can pick you up either at 4:30pm or 6:00pm, depending on train times and your own preferences, to go to Lao Cai and catch the over-night train back to Hanoi.

Day 14: Hanoi – Halong Bay
Activities:
Early in the morning, arrive in Hanoi, the guide pick you up and transfer you to take a daily room for relaxing and shower.
We’ll pick you up in Hanoi by 8:00am and drive through the verdant Red River Delta to make our way to the famous UNESCO World Heritage site, Halong Bay. You’ll board a luxury junk ship for an overnight cruise– while you relax on-board you can marvel at the incredible limestone karsts that jut out of the sea and the thousands of jungle-covered islands that seem to float on the waves. The turquoise waters of the Gulf of Tonkin swirl around hidden grottoes and ancient caves to create an enchanting, timeless world.
We’ll serve you a fresh seafood lunch while you sit back and relax as you enjoy the incredible view with a drink in your hand. We’ll take you to a traditional fishing village where the locals have created an entire town on the decks of their boats, then you can explore Tien Ong Cave before returning to the cruise for cocktails, canapés, and a spectacular sunset. End your day with a romantic, candlelit dinner.

Day 15: Halong Bay – Hanoi
Activities:
Begin the day with a Tai Chi class on deck in the early morning mist or just admire the beautiful scenery as the sun rises over the azure waters. Choose between an excursion to a secluded island with a sandy beach for a swim or join the chef for a cooking demonstration to learn more about Vietnamese cuisine. Enjoy a leisurely brunch while your junk cruises Halong Bay, passing islets and caves as you make your way back to the dock. Have a leisurely morning before enjoying brunch on-board. Your driver will meet you upon disembarkation for the transfer you back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, check in and free time.

Day 16: Departure from Hanoi
